Dick Wong - B.O.B.* - The Final Cut

Hong Kong choreographer Dick Wong come to the UK for the first time with B.O.B.* - The Final Cut. One dancer creates a move, the next describes it verbally, and the third tries to re-create the move simply according to the words of the second performer, questioning the way we read the movement of others against that which we imagine. The results are a witty exploration of the intangible quality of dance. Journeying from China to the UK the potential of the body as a tool of expression and communication emerges only to reveal a host of uncertainties and cultural misinterpretations.
- “Wong had his audience in stitches throughout the evening”
- THE STRAIGHTS TIMES, SINGAPORE
Dick Wong will work with two London based dancers for these London dates - young performer Femi Oyewole and UK based choreographer and dancer Frauke Requardt.
The performance is followed by a discussion, "How does location and culture affect the creation of work?", with Dick Wong and Emma Gladstone, Sadler's Wells Producer.
Supported by the Home Affairs Bureau (Arts Development Fund), Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
